Dispatch from the Box: Calling All Artists

To get an idea of what we’ve been doing in the box, I put together a quick video of my collaboration with Arielle yesterday:

So far, we’ve only been collaborating with each other. We want you all to participate.

We purposefully left a space on the schedule for Friday afternoon, trying to plan time for something that might arise from the experience of being in the box, having been here these past two days. Today, Isabel Forbes came by and asked if she could come by tomorrow and do some drawing. We thought it was a great idea. And since we’ve met a bunch of artists in the past two days, we decided to invite you all to come out, amateurs and professionals, and bring your art supplies or writing tablet, bring something you’re working on, or something you’ve already done. Set up on the sidewalk in front of the window and show Spartanburg what its creative community really looks like!

We hope it will be a good chance for artists to meet other artists and for people to meet the artists in their community, as well as a nice time for some life drawing on Main Street.
